Sorry, but it seems like Google have done some upgrading and changes on Blogger, at least here!

All my links to blogs and other sites seem to have vanished all of a sudden.

I´ll see if I can get at least some of them back in not too long.

The blog enters it´s final stage

With Newton´s stencil "Evolution" this blog enters it´s final stage.

From now on there will only be posts related to Robert Wyatt, and I might throw in an Ivor Cutler message or two, just so I still can call this site Robert Wyatt "and Stuff"!

I´m sorry to say I don´t have enough words inside me to produce blog posts about the other favorite topics any more, and let´s face it - you know how to google.

Hello people and hello 2015!

Let me just start the year with an excuse to all of you that have been sending me links to music I should listen to and write about, and haven´t heard a word from me.

Believe me or not, but I might have listened to the music and liked it too, but things have been a bit slow in 2014. It has just been too much for me to digest and blog about.

Regular visitors will know that I am a fan and not a reviewer, just trying to get more people hooked on good music. So I won´t promise to change, even if I know it´s rude not to answer people, and most of the stuff in wyattandstuff will still be music I seek out and buy myself.

If you still want to contact me, please do (I really appreciate it!), and find me on Twitter, Flickr or Instagram too for even shorter messages than the ones you will find here.

Trompetut

Norwegian speaking visitors, might want to check out my new blog Trompetut (or perhaps not?), where I will post stuff happening in Bergen (art, literature, street art, etc), that I feel will be too much in Robert Wyatt and Stuff.

Wyatting blog put to rest

My Norwegian Wyatting blog has been put to rest, after seven years of almost daily updates.

I must say I already regret it a bit, but updating two blogs was a bit too much.

Bear with me if some local Bergen stuff (not related to music you might be interested in) pop up here from time to time, will you, and try not to look at the Norwegian labels that may find their way in between the English ones at the bottom of the posts (see previous post to get an idea - "utstillinger" being the same as "exhibitions").

Cooling it?

I have been posting in this blog and in Wyatting almost daily for about six years now, and have to admit I sometimes wonder what the hell I am doing with my time!

At a meeting with myself I had these points up for discussion:

1: Keep on blogging like a mad man.
2: Let´s have a pure Robert Wyatt blog (that was the intention when I started blogging; sorry for drowning Wyatt in other stuff!).
3: Cool it down a bit, and have some breaks.
4: Stop blogging.

After some serious fighting ("discussion"), number 3 won.

Suddenly it may be quiet in here for a day of five. Probably will be better for all of us!?

I allowed anonymous comments in the blog again a few days ago without telling you, after closing earlier this year, but sorry - the spammers were at it again after a short time. And they piss me off!

I have disabled the possibility to comment anonymously for a while. The blog has been under some kind of spam attack from pushers of  some pharmaceutical product you have all heard of.
I have been removing the "comments" as soon as i saw them, but it takes some time, and it pisses me off, to tell you the truth.

Google gadget

Finally, it´s possible to search this blog again, by using the new Google gadget (top right). Please go hunting!

Search blog

It seems like Blogger are having problems with their "Search Blog" function in the blogspot blogs. The functionality of the blog is reduced now, and you have to check Labels at the bottom right in the blog, and go from there, to be sure you will find everything written on a topic in a blog.
I hope they will fix this one soon!

Moo

I got my new mini cards from Moo/Flickr today. They were a bit small (probably that's why thy're called mini cards?), but quite cool! So now I've got my home made cards to make people visit my blogs and Flickr pictures. Next you'll see me trying to hand them out in the city center, going "Hello. Excuse me sir, have you got a couple of minutes to talk about my blog? No? OK, have a nice day! Grrr!"

Word of Mouth Marketing

Several newspapers and bloggers (see jill/txt) in Norway have been writing about young bloggers "making millions" on advertisements and hidden marketing in their blogs, getting paid to mention brand names. Damn! I could have been stinking rich now, from pushing all those Robert Wyatt albums, but just as I see the possibility, I realise it's not fair play (and probably strictly forbidden).
I'm not against marketing and I'm not against making money, but I think the beauty of the internet is the possibility to share and cooperate. The more blogs without advertising, the better.

I’m going to earn some money on you folks. At least, I’m wondering why not? When I think about all the good music I suggest you buy, and you HAVE bought it I guess (whaaat?). Those times are over, I’m going all artistxited on you. Buy through my blog, and money will go MY way. But hey, I better start writing about some other artists then? Now hands up, how many of you bought this fat album?
No, just kidding. I think being half broke suits me just fine.
