Lindsay Cooper

Let´s hear it for Lindsay Cooper (bassoon, oboe ++) today. She is perhaps best known from Henry Cow, but has played in numerous projects and bands (News From Babel, Art Bears, Hatfield and The North, National Health etc etc), and has released several solo albums too.
The other night I was listening to "Rags" (ARC 1980), her first solo album (and I´m sorry to say the only one I own so far). The album is a tribute to the needle women and workers of London of 1830s and 1840s, and the music is some kind of radical prog in the neighborhood of Henry Cow and Art Bears (please don´t hate me for that one). On "Rags" Lindsay Cooper is joined by Georgie Born, Phil Minton, Fred Frith, Chris Cutler and the singer Sally Potter, who is also a well known film director.
After playing "Rags" I found "Oh Moscow" on YouTube, recorded during the "Unidentified Movement" Festival in Volgograd (1991).
Musicians in the video:
Lindsay Cooper - bassoon, alto and sopranino saxophones;
Alfred Harth - tenor saxophone, clarinet;
Hugh Hopper - bass-guitar;
Phil Minton - trumpet, voice;
Sally Potter - texts, voice.
Veryan Weston - piano
Chris Cutler - drums
Wikipedia says that Lindsay Cooper was active until 1998. If you have other info, please comment.
And we have a Robert Wyatt link: "The Last Nightingale" (1984) with Chris Cutler, Tim Hodgkinson, Lindsay Cooper, Robert Wyatt and Adrian Mitchell, released to raise money for striking miners.

How I Invented Time
The Archimedes Quartet is David Thomas, Peter Blegvad, Chris Cutler og John Edwards, and I wish I was going to see them at Cafe Oto in London 3 December!
A little info stolen from the project blog "How I Invented Time": "Five years ago David Thomas described a bath tub epiphany to Peter Blegvad at a chance meeting outside an architectural college in Oxford. "Edison, Einstein, Eisenhower and Elvis - The Four 'E's Who Invented The 20th Century." This evolved, in the way of these sorts of conversations, into a Big Idea - a lecture / symposium slamdown to be refereed by Chris Cutler", and now they go live.
I hope this happening is being recorded, filmed or painted!

Peter Blegvad Trio with Karen Mantler
How about Peter Blegvad Trio (Peter Blegvad, Chris Cutler, John Greaves) and "Waste of time"? Guest at Cafe Oto (London) in September was Karen Mantler.
The sound isn´t the best, but Blegvad is Blegvad, and I wouldn´t mind a new album soon!

Comicoperando played their versions of Robert Wyatt's music in London 12 May. Great concert, but poorly attended, or what? I wouldn't mind seeing this gang!
Gary Franklin took the picture (more on his Flickr) of Chris Cutler, Annie Whitehead, Dagmar Krause, Karen Mantler and Michel Delville or John Edwards (please tell me which one, if you know).
It is John Edwards! Thanks
And a review over at Blogdegezou!

Roulette TV: CHRIS CUTLER from Roulette Intermedium on Vimeo.
A friendly drummer from Bergen pointed me towards this video of Chris Cutler, made by Roulette TV in 2001. We get a drum solo (a weak description in this case) and an interview.
You all know that Chris Cutler played in Henry Cow and Art Bears, and has cooperated with lots of musicians, several of them mentioned in this blog for various reasons. Cutler is also the man behind Recommended Records (now ReR Mecacorp).

Brainville 3: "Sea Song" (live)
I might as well steal profperplexed´s info. Profperplexed uploaded Robert Wyatt´s "Sea Song" performed by Brainville 3:
"Audience video that I made at Spirit Of '66 in Verviers, Belgium on 25 April 2008.
The song was written by Robert Wyatt and originally appears on his album "Rock Bottom".
Daevid Allen, guitar-vocal -- Hugh Hopper, Bass -- Chris Cutler, Drums
This was the final night of their tour and I think the last Brainville 3 gig."
