Sebastian Tellier

The French are not too happy with Sebastian Tellier's song for The Eurovision Song Contest (!), because it's sung in English. Oops. Tellier is playing The Bergenfest in a couple of weeks, and the organizers claim that he has been compared with Robert Wyatt and Syd Barret (only on the Norwegian site). Are there any good reasons for this?

YES!
His latest album is not so good, as he returns to mellow, "Air" (the band) style, which is IMHO not so interesting anymore.
His 2004 album, "Politics" is one of my favorites of that year, and you can certainly find there hints of Psychedelia/Wyatt/Soft Machine somewhere in the album. I Love that album.
I don't know how he performs live, but Youtube might have some of that...

Wyatt and Syd Barrett, that's some heavy shoes to fill! That's also very cool influences to be given...
I love that you have so much about Robert Wyatt on here Svenn! He's amazing!
We have a lot more footage of our stay with him but are saving it for when the track we did with him is done... Stay tuned...
