Robert Wyatt "talks about politics, pride, and living a full life outside of the mainstream" in an interview with Ryan Dombal in Pitchfork (14 Nov. 2014).
On his biography:
- “I thought, ‘Well, it's none of my business,’” he says of his own life story. “If I were going to write a book, it wouldn't be about me. I have many interests, but I am not one of them.”
On pop songs:
- There are a lot of composers who were fantastic, but I challenge them to write a record that you could play five times a day for two months on the radio, songs that people will want to dance to on a Saturday night. That's an enormous skill!
On life these days:
-I'm not out there in the world anymore, but I'm watching.
